Official opening of the new Eco
Loo at the Cross Lane Site
The Cross Lane site new Eco Loo was officially opened on Saturday 3rd May by the Town Mayor, Rosemary Farmer. The event was attended by Cross Lane plot holders, several members of the committee, and The Town Clerk, John Bagshaw. The Eco Loo was financed by St Albans District Council community grants, which are also funding the Cross Lane flower meadow. Their representative, unfortunately, could not attend the event.
Thanks go to Chris Overton, Jenny Stevenson, Barry Watts and John Molson for all the work to install the loo, not forgetting Atholl Harmer who dug the "soak away" hole! Thanks are also due to Lin Norman for her success in obtaining the grant for both the loo and the wild flower meadow. Photographs of the event, kindly provided by David Whitbread, are shown on this web page.
Finally, the Cross Lane flower meadow will be officially opened in August this year and is progressing well. If you are passing the site it’s worth a look
